My friend reached out for it, and as he did so, the dog backed away and bit him on the hand and pulled him away. I was confused because I thought that we were just petting this animal that was in our room now. After a few minutes of this happening , my sister walked into the room. The dog ran up to her feet as she stepped out of her room and greeted her as well. Our parents soon followed after them, not knowing what had happened to us . We were all confused because this little dog was no ordinary pup. It was a pure bred German Shepard, and he wanted to protect the family that had welcomed him into their home. This little puppy did not deserve to be thrown away or abused by anyone, especially not our family . The next day, at school, I overheard my friends making fun of their dad for owning a German Shepherd despite himself being "racist". My heart broke because I knew that there are still people today who think nothing of taking someone else's life just because they have a different skin color. People are becoming more aware of the procedures in which people are treated with respect, but there are still racists out there who do not see this. A few days later, I was at my friend's house again with the dog. My mother came out of her room and had to face the dog too. He did not seem bothered by this , but did get up and scare her . She did not really care for this . I did because I knew that if he had acted like that at school or anywhere else , he would be called "racist" for it. cfa1e77820
